Fascinating Friday Links #35 + Hunger Monster

Hiya!

(HIGH-ya, not hi-YAH! Although, I am a ninja, so I guess the latter would be appropriate too.)

I really wanted to have Amanda’s oatmeal cookie dough smoothie this morning, but since our AP Calc class is having a celebratory breakfast party today (seriously, that class is just about food from here on out), I decided to have the smoothie for dinner last night. Satisfied the craving. 🙂

DSC_8065

Using Amanda’s no-fail recipe with added spinach, ⅓ c. oats instead of ¼ c., and peanut butter instead of almond butter. With Greek yogurt on the side for dipping, of course.

*Adding this at 5:30 in the morning: Apparently, as filling as this smoothie was, I guess it was not calorically sufficient for me, considering I just woke up STARVING at 5 AM. That hasn’t happened in a long time! (Don’t fret—I’m not revisiting any old habits. I just wanted the smoothie last night, and I’m paying the price for such a light dinner.)

DSC_8066

The typical snack. Plus another spoonful of peanut butter after I finished this. The hunger monster attacked me.

{Alright, back to sleep…hopefully}*

Oh and here are this week’s moves!

Monday: 5 min. stair master + 3 rounds of: 10 pistol squats each leg, 15 bulgarian split squats each leg, 1 min. wall sit, 25 hamstring ball roll-ins + 8 minute ab tabata

Tuesday: Ballet

Wednesday: 5 min. row + arm workout (that involved TRX tricep extensions➔ soreness!) + 8 minute ab tabata

Thursday: Modern {dance}

Friday: Dance company auditions for next year. Current company members do not have to re-audition, but we still have to go to lead my example! So sad that this is the last one for seniors though… *Tear*

My mom cancelled my gym membership this week, so I have one more month left to attend. It works out well because dance will be ending by the beginning of next month too, so after that, I can truly just focus on REST!

Anyway, onto the link love. Enjoy this week’s Fascinating Friday Links!

Hello!

So you know how I said I wanted that piglet from my dream a couple nights ago? Well, I’ve found a way to vicariously have a pet piggy— Hamlet The Piggy on Instagram. I mean….

Victoria and I are now watching every cute animal video on Youtube, “aww”-ing at every puppy and wishing we had one as we lisp through our retainers. (That was an oddly vivid description.)

We also went out to eat sushi last night. It was delicious, but we definitely did not stuff ourselves like we did two nights ago. Goin’ light, ya know? 😉

Moves yesterday included lots of air squats, pushups, and sit-ups throughout the day (basically the 100 challenge) + some fun burpees thrown in there. It wasn’t a formal workout, but I enjoyed taking study breaks to get the blood flowin’ and the muscles working!

Since I missed sharing Fascinating Friday Links with you all last week, I’m especially looking forward to this week’s list! Enjoy!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a blessed Good Friday and Easter if you celebrate! I promise to not accidentally eat meat or nut butter today. I actually unintentionally went meatless yesterday now that I think about it…maybe that makes up for last Friday?? 😉 Breakfast this morning was a nut-butter-less yogurt bowl with a sliced banana, chia, hemp, cereal, cinnamon, nutmeg and honey. I also made Victoria Gina’s famous cookie dough cereal this morning and she loves it!

After Good Friday service today, we’re all heading up to Boston for the final college visit EVER (Boston University for me, Northeastern University for Victoria). We’ll be spending Easter up there, so we’ll get to see Ben too!

Happy Friday!

Now that it’s Friday, it seems like the week by quickly, but I definitely did not feel that way during the week. It was pretty hectic, and I didn’t even get to post on Tuesday or Thursday 😦 Ah well. All that matters is that it’s Friday now, so let’s get groovy.

I want to thank you all for the congratulations on my acceptance to U of Maryland! For those who were wondering, it is in my top two right now (along with University of Virginia), so I’m pretty excited! I still have to hear back from Boston University, but that won’t be until March-April. I’m praying that God will help me make the right decision in the end!

Anyway, I’ll stop talking now and let you all get to reading some of this week’s Fascinating Friday Links!

Another week is in the books! This one was quite long and eventful for me, but I am thankful for all the blessings nonetheless.

There are some fun activities on the agenda for tonight! Company is going into the city for a class at the Alvin Ailey Studios, dinner, and an Alvin Ailey show! The AA company is probably my all-time favorite. Their athleticism, grace, and joy makes me swoon every time I watch them. If you ever come to NYC and are looking for an amazing dance show, go see Alvin Ailey!!!

Hey hey! (in the words of my friend Jeannine— happy birthday, girl!)

I’m gonna keep this intro short and sweet as my eyes are slowly getting droopy. I’m trying out some Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra tea to help a little with my insomnia this week. Jo’s post couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. She mentioned that tea with valerian helped her fall asleep quite well, so I picked some up for myself on the way home from school. I’m convinced that my insomnia is purely psychological (can my brain just have an off button sometimes??), but perhaps this tea will help bring my stress levels down a bit. Pray for me! *As I’m completing this post in the morning, I must say that I still couldn’t really relax last night until I had the background noise of the TV. Slept on the couch again then! Oh well.*

But today is Friday, so that’s definitely something to be happy about! I’ll be going to my friend Jeannine’s birthday dinner tonight and then the rest of the weekend should entail the usual activities (dance, Mass, teaching religious ed., homework, etc.). All good stuff happening 🙂 Here are the Fascinating Friday Links to end the week!
