Favorites Vlog with Daliza

Good morning!

My cousins left early this morning, so now it’s just Daliza, my parents, and me in Florida for now. I’m gonna miss those cuties! We had a laid-back day yesterday— the dads hit the golf course while the rest of us hit the outlet mall.

Breakfast was a peach, peanut butter, banana, yogurt smoothie + toast with sunflower seed butter

Perfect fuel for walking all over the mall 😉

However, I think filming and editing the video you are about to watch was the best part of yesterday. Daliza and I found so many little things in it that made us laugh hysterically. I thought I was gonna pee my pants, I was laughing so hard.

We’re definitely the only ones that think it’s so funny.

I had seen several bloggers (like Julianna and Amanda and Brittany) do this favorites tag in a blog post, but I decided to do it in a video with Daliza, whom you’ve seen a lot of on the blog recently!

So here goes nothing:

Notes:

*Edited by the amazing Daliza.

*Daliza’s not blind.

*Note the costume change.

*4:07 I am a donkey.

*Sweaters and BOOTS at 6:05

*#IGuessSo

*Daliza should make a blog called “50 Shades of Laughs”

We hope you enjoyed learning a little more about us! And perhaps laughing at us.

I leave you with a photo my uncle took last night:

Some of your favorites!

Do you like Daliza’s sunglasses?

Should she start a blog?!

Mall + Disney World

Hi there!

I didn’t post anything yesterday, but it feels as if I haven’t blogged in a week or something. Is that some magic Disney World time warp conundrum? Or is that just vacation? I actually told my friends that Disney is oddly scary because it’s this utopian world that is obnoxiously clean, constantly happy, frighteningly systematic, and meticulously attentive to detail. Sounds like an evil empire to me.  The happiest place on Earth!

I’ll shut up now and go right ahead into filling you all in on these past couple of days which included a trip to the Mall at Millennia, Gaylord Palms Resort (#why choose that name for a resort?), and the elusive Disney World!

Mall at Millennia

This is a beautiful mall in Orlando that my family loves to visit whenever we’re down here. For me, it’s not even the shopping; I just like to look at the place. There are palm trees inside the mall. INSIDE.

After shopping and walking around for a bit, we walked across the street to the Elephant Bar restaurant for a super late lunch (3:30 PM— we were late risers and had breakfast at 11 AM). I ate the Grilled Salmon with Cilantro Cucumber Yogurt Sauce and some other Asian-y spiced sauce. Delicious!

Gaylord Palms

Next we headed to the Gaylord Palms Resort (none of us could say that with a straight face…we’re mature), which is another beautiful place with some restaurants, shops, and gator/fish ponds.

As we were walking, we came across a man casually reclining in his chair carving amazing fruit sculptures. He allowed me to take a picture of his works and told us that he carved fruits for Ivanka Trump’s and Kim Kardashian’s wedding! Hit him up if you want some profesh fruit faces at your Florida party!

Frozen yogurt also happened. Peanut butter + cookies and cream to be exact.

After we got back home in the evening, my aunt, Daliza and I walked over to these food trucks parked in our neighborhood. Apparently they come once a month, but I’d never seen them in past summers. We didn’t buy anything, but it was cool to visit!

Disney World

I wouldn’t be surprised if you skipped to this portion of my blog post. Disney does that to people.

Hitchin’ to the castle. Stay classy.

As you can tell (if you’re familiar with Disney World), we visited the Magic Kingdom park with the iconic Cinderella Castle as the centerpiece. Daliza and I ventured to each of the “lands” in the park and managed to hop on quite a few rides throughout the day (we were there from 10 AM until 11:30 PM). Splash mountain was probably my favorite because it was the only one that was remotely thrilling with the big drop and splash (obviously) at the end. I got soaked.

In my most romantic princess attire.

Daliza and I also tried the famous Disney Dole Whip! I had the pineapple-vanilla twist, which was good, but I liked Daliza’s orange-vanilla one better. The pineapple-vanilla was more icy, while the orange-vanilla one was creamier.

Brought our own lunches to save SOME money from Disney’s black hole of revenue.

“It’s a small world” ride! It had been 14 years since I went on this. It used to be my FAVORITE ride when I was a nugget.

Dinner at “Columbia Harbour House” in Frontierland. This grilled salmon with couscous and steamed broccoli was surprisingly very delicious and satisfying!

Evening festivities

After this electric parade, we watched the big shows at the Castle, which were easily my favorite parts of the whole day at Disney.

And Tinker Bell 🙂

My feet were crying since we probably only sat down for a total of one hour in the whole day, but it was a blast. Amusement parks are 100 times less stressful when you’re not 5 years old.

Today? We already had a nice, big breakfast, and now we’re headed to the BEACH…”each, let’s go get away..”

Have a fabulous weekend, friends!

So tell me:

Have you ever been to Disney World?

Who is your favorite Disney character?

Do you like amusement parks?

Behind the Scenes #24: Becoming Nocturnal

Thinking-Out-Loud

With the cool kid, Amanda!

1) I’m slowly becoming nocturnal {as I start typing this blog post at 12:40 AM}. Summer is getting the best of me…in the best way possible.

2) Being nocturnal means waking up at noon and being super hungry for “breakfast.” Sorry I’m not sorry. Yesterday, I had a giant breakfast of three stacks of leftover green silver dollar pancakes, a glass o’ milk (only half— it was sour-ish), and a nectarine to finish it all off.

DSC_9301

Whenever I have a big breakfast, I’m usually not as hungry for the rest of the day. So besides some veggies as a snack, I didn’t eat “lunch” until 6 PM. LOL at my eating schedule.

3) My mom is just #winning in life hacks all the time. Yesterday, a couple was trying to pay for parking at one of those fancy machines, and their change— a $5 bill— was stuck in the machine. There was plastic cover in front of the dispenser, so no one could reach his/her hand in there to retrieve the bill. So mom whips out a plastic fork from her food court lunch box, sticks it in there (wow those two things sound so dirty), and rescues the $5 bill. A bystander told me, “Your mom is cool!” I agreed. 🙂

Slow, ascending claps for mother

4) I was trying on dresses at Marshall’s yesterday and realized that I am no longer petite. I am totally cool with that, but this girl cannot fit into extra smalls anymore without feeling like she might rip the dresses. It’s just weird to me because I always thought I was the smallest of small people. Now, even though I’m still short, I have MEAT on my bones, and I couldn’t be happier about that!

5) Mom and I shopped for over six hours yesterday. Hard core.

6) More evidence that I’m nocturnal: I did Pilates at 11 PM last night. It was refreshing/semi-torturous for my abs.

7) Even more evidence that I’m nocturnal: I baked at midnight. I made Amanda’s blueberry banana breakfast muffins!

DSC_9303

It was fun! I listened to some music, didn’t worry about others judging me when I struggled to coat blueberries in flour, and of course, I got to eat a muffin fresh out of the oven.

DSC_9304

Hot out of the oven with a shmear of almond butter. Perfect.

8) Obsessed with this Tori Kelly + Passion cover of Stop This Train:

I’m definitely gonna listen to this on the way to Boston University and start sobbing.

9) Fourth of July fireworks are happening tonight in our town! I’m pumped, but I’m also praying that it doesn’t get rained out. 80% chance of precipitation right now…Think we’ll be alright??

10) When Michael and Sam came over to my house a couple nights ago, we watched our old 5th grade yearbook video and discovered that my voice was THAT OF A CHIPMUNK. Seriously, it was not a human voice. The end.

Have a great day, everyone!

So tell me:

Do you ever go through “nocturnal” phases?

Have you done Pilates before?
