I Don’t Just Want To Be Fed Information

My legs are so ready for this tropical vacation coming up.

IMG_1723

Julianna shared a photo of her burpee knees the day before on Snapchat

At least the chlorine from pool therapy is keeping my legs smooth. The chemicals are basically burning off the [already minimal amount of] leg hair that I have.

This week has been hectic, a little weird, but really great overall.

  • Hectic because of work and domestic duties (miss you, Madre).
  • Weird because of earlier wake-ups and seeing a severed squirrel on the ground one day.
  • Really great because of the little laughs/blessings that all add up. Also, SUNSHINE!

Favorite moves and grooves this week:

This Blogilates ab workout. You will be cussing her out in your head, it’s that hard. My abs don’t usually get sore, but this made my abs sore for two days. And this 16 minute workout (4 rounds, 30 seconds work, 10 seconds rest):

  • burpee tuck jump
  • up down planks
  • goblet squats
  • staggered pushups
  • burpees
  • side lunge with twist

Bonus: I got ONE strict toes to bar last night right before going to bed! It made all my muscles hurt.

The busyness and weirdness this week were dampened by the fact that my family is leaving for a tropical vacation, as mentioned above. We’re celebrating my parents’ 25th anniversary and my brother’s graduation from college. I’m obviously just along for the ride.

I won’t have wifi, since we’ll be on a cruise in the middle of the ocean, but I’ll be sure to share the shenanigans when we return. Please pray that we have safe travels! The cruise company contacted us about the possibility of contracting the Zika virus, so *thumbs up*.

I’ll pray for you too if you have any travel plans coming up 🙂

Lastly, I have a Five Minute Friday vlog today! It’s about how I am trying to more actively stay connected with current events and worldwide issues.

link to video!

p.s. here’s one of Demi’s rant tweets:

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and happy July!! Happy 4th to all my American friends too! (I was about to say, “May the fourth be with you,” but that’s two months off.)

Goodbye for a week or so. I’ll miss you!

So tell me:

Do you find that you let information/news/opinions be fed to you, rather than read up and formulate your own opinions?

What is your favorite way to eat kale?

What are you doing this weekend?

Fascinating Friday Links #40 + Jumping for Joy

Hi!

I went on a 4 mile walk/run at a shady trail yesterday, and there were some beautiful things I saw along the way that made me want to jump for sheer joy. I’m not kidding; I actually did this when no one was around:

I saw an elderly couple walking back and forth on the trail holding hands, a smiling lady praying a Rosary, a man pensively sitting on a bench while looking out into the lake, and a bunch of chipmunks (one of which scared the crap out of me when it popped out of the trees all of a sudden).

Not so beautiful was a bug flying into my nose. EW.

I was listening to “I Got Rhythm” at one point as well, which put some major pep in my step. I was doing leaps and turns in my sneakers until I saw a lady walking towards me. Guatever, “Let them praise Him with dancing!” Moving and grooving at its best.

I also played frisbee— the only hand-eye coordination activity that I’m actually good at—with Jordan and Michael for a couple hours and it was the best thing ever (they told me to say that). But seriously, it was really fun! Except when they each hit me with the frisbee accidentally— once in the collar bone and once in the shin, right where my burpee wound is. Abusive.

These cookies at Mike’s house made up for it though:

Anyway. Long time, no links! I took a break from Fascinating Friday Links while in Florida because there was just too much happening on the trip that I wanted to recap, so the links had to scoot over temporarily. I’m happy to be bringing them back this week!

Hiya!

Yesterday was the senior picnic— one of the special events that we receive as the big shots of the school. We did all those gushy things like signing every person’s yearbook (even those of the people we’ve never talked to before— loooook we’re breaking barriers, how sweet). Then there were other fun things like frisbee, soccer, volleyball, and eating burgers and dogs.

Daliza! 😀

Although the weather was kinda gross, it was a fun time! Let’s be honest though, the cheeseburger was the best part of the day.

Joking.

And now here are this week’s Fascinating Friday Links. Enjoy!

It was a shorter list today, but I guess that can be a good thing!

My friend Susie is coming over this morning so that I can do her makeup for prom! I don’t really know why she’s coming to me…I’m not that amazing at makeup, but hopefully I can work some magic. Just pray that I don’t screw up one of the biggest nights of her high school life, cool? Then I’m off to my school’s senior luncheon, which is a fancier event at a country club…ooo la la. I ♥ dressing up.

Happy Friday, everyone!

So tell me:

What are you doing today?

Do you like dressing up?

Fascinating Friday Links #23

Hey, would ya look at that? It’s Friday!

With only two and half days of school this week, I actually think my “week” starts now. My weekends are just as busy (if not, more) than my week days. At least next Friday is the start of our winter break! As if we haven’t had enough breaks this winter….Not complaining AT ALL.

I started watching the Olympics last night, and I’m already exited for what’s to come! The winter Olympics are definitely less popular than the summer ones, but I’m partial to the figure skating since I used to be a competitive figure skater. I also love watching skiing and speed skating because those can get intense!

Alright, well there are a ton of awesome links that I have to share with you all today! Enjoy the 23rd weekly Fascinating Friday Links!
