Monday Breakfast Date {MIMM #20}

Happy Monday, friends!

I’m obviously just meandering my way through the morning considering this post is coming to you so late. After somehow losing track of time last night, I decided it wouldn’t hurt to just wait until this morning to write up my Monday blog post. I’m actually excited for this because I kind of want to make it like one of those blogger virtual coffee dates! Except I don’t drink coffee (or tea), so this is going to be a breakfast date 🙂

First off— what I’m having for breakfast:

Hot banana oats in an almost empty cherry butter toffee peanut butter jar (unpictured cereal on the side for added crunch)

Currently eating it and almost to the treasure at the bottom— the peanut butter!

If we were having breakfast this morning, I would tell you that using greenish bananas for oatmeal is a no-no. They don’t become those sweet, soft pillows of banana that I love! At least the peanut butter makes up for it.

If we were having breakfast this morning, I would tell you that I’m currently watching Tyler’s Ultimate on Food Network. Daytime Food Network is SO much better that some of the weird nighttime shows they’ve got going on nowadays. I just love the classic cooking shows….like Giada and her perpetual grin.

If we were having breakfast this morning, I would tell you that on Friday evening, I found out that I got accepted into University of Virginia! *groovin’, groovin’*

Not only is it awesome because it’s in Charlottesville (hey, blogger-town!), but I know it’s also an awesome school. The only thing is that it’s an awkward distance from my house— too close to fly, but too far to come home for a long weekend… It’s an option nevertheless!

If we were having breakfast this morning, I would tell you that my friends and I tried a new Asian fusion restaurant on Friday night, and it was deeeelicious.

I came in starving and left full and happy. 🙂

If we were having breakfast this morning, I would tell you that I have now finished my oatmeal (actually, you would probably be able to see that I’ve finished), and I’ll say too-da-loo for now. Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day to all the Americans! I hope you have a lovely day off if you indeed have a day off. My day will involve lots of midterm studying, a workout, and more blogging for tomorrow!

Linking up with Katie‘s marvelous in my monday! Because having breakfast with you all is quite marvelous 🙂

So tell me:

What would you tell me if we were having breakfast?

What did you eat for breakfast?

What is your favorite Food Network show?

Snacky Snacks {MIMM #2}

Hello!

I hope your Monday is off to a great start! Today marks the start of dance bootcamp, and I’m so excited to get back into it and see all my company girls again! This morning starts with conditioning taught by a buff and intense jazz teacher, who I love, but I know I’m about to get my butt handed to me.

Today I’m also joining Katie’s Marvelous in My Monday again! Beware: lots of snacks in this post.

Marvelous is…

My family. God gave me a mother, father, and brother who know exactly how to deal with my annoying life issues. Friday night going into Saturday was really rough due to some severe insomnia. My parents prayed with me, comforted me, and did what they could to try to help me fall asleep. And Ben tried to give me some advice on relaxation. Despite my hardships in not being able to sleep, my heart is overflowing with gratitude and love for them.

Marvelous is…

Reading this awesome story. Mao’s Last Dancer is one of my summer reading books, and I am loving it! It’s a true story about a Chinese boy with a very poor peasant background, who is randomly chosen to learn ballet as a part of Chairman Mao’s artistic army for Communism (or something like that). He ends up becoming one of the best at the academy and comes to America to pursue his dreams and escape the hopeless destiny of being a peasant worker for the rest of his life.

I still have about 50 pages to go, and I can’t wait to finish! *Note: if you buy this book through iBooks like I did, just know that the only version available is the Young Reader’s version, which I did not realize until I started reading it. Thus, the reading is a little on the basic side, but the story is still wonderful.*

Lunch with my great aunt and her friend! They’re both Maryknoll sisters. We went back to the Vietnamese restaurant at which we ate when coming back from Canada. (<–I think that is proper grammar, but it sounds weird. Eh.)

Not so marvelous is it spilling onto my camera as I excitedly stirred it. Nice work, Alison.
