It’s time to see my face in action again.
…If you want, that is. For this week’s What I Ate Wednesday, I filmed a frenzied vlog for you all. I had a lot of fun filming and editing this, and I hope you have fun watching it too! As in, I hope you get a kick out of me embarrassing myself.
The theme of my eats recently is just eating MORE, or at least eat more densely. Honestly, I didn’t eat that much more than usual yesterday. However, one great thing is that I didn’t think too much about eating. I just ate what I was craving when I wanted it. For instance, I could have eaten Greek yogurt for dessert, but I wanted ice cream, so I had ice cream.
Anyway, I’ll let the vlog do the rest of the talking.
click here if you want to watch it on youtube
If you don’t want to watch the vlog (I totally understand) or if you’re not in a place where watching videos is socially acceptable, here’s a regular blog run-down of yesterday’s eats!
three whole wheat banana pancakes with full fat Greek yogurt, lots of nut butter, maple syrup + glass o’ milk
salad with curried tuna salad and quinoa + 34 Degrees crackers + Pirate’s Booty + lots of peanut butter with a banana
multigrain toast with sunflower seed butter and berries
more Pirate’s Booty
Italian sautéed chicken thighs with caramelized onions, tomato, and garlic herb cheddar on a whole wheat bun + green beans
leftover corn muffin + vanilla ice cream with the last of the macerated strawberries
a generous spoonful of Nuttzo power fuel
WIAW partying with the master of Peas and Crayons
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! Don’t forget to laugh at yourself and dance like nobody’s watching 😉
So tell me:
Yay or nay to vlogs? (I will not be offended if you say nay.)
What did you eat for dinner last night?
Did you have a “facepalm” moment yesterday like I did with taking out the trash too late?
Already commented on your video on Youtube but #yolo. I must ask, what is this Pirate’s Booty you speak of? Such an odd name and a strange looking food source. You have piqued my curiosity my dear.
And dinner last night… uhhh… Tortellini! It was great 😀 But the sweet potatoes I just ate for dinner tonight were even better 😉 (with tuna mixed with thousand island dressing – it’s amazing I tell you!).
Haha, Pirate’s Booty is a white cheddar cheese puff snack that is the most addicting thing you will ever put into your mouth. 🙂
Mmmm I ♥ tortellini! Craving some at 8 AM now.
YAY to your vlogs — you’re adorable ❤ I can't even tell you how many times I've wanted to vlog, but I always keep making excuses. Wanna pester me about it until I give in? 😀
Dinner last night waassssss… I think a mock burrito bowl? Beans, rice, salsa, guac, veggies. Good stuff 🙂 And I think my entire day was a face palm yesterday. But I was too frazzled and barely remember any of it.
Doooo it, dooo it, dooo it! I can pester you more over FaceTime 😀
I need to make one of these mock burrito bowls that you enjoy so often!
Haha now I’m totally craving pirate’s booty!! That stuff is so addicting!!
You’re the cutest. Loved this vlog and seeing your face in action and eating nut butter 😛 Keep em coming!
I love vlogs 🙂 Keep ’em coming! Also, I’ve never tried Pirate’s Booty but it must be popular/delicious because a fictional book I was reading the other day mentioned binging on it 😀
You must try Pirate’s Booty! It is food of the gods I say.
Aww, you’re adorable, Alison. So to answer your question: yes to vlogs! I’m not always a fan of them but yours are fun to watch.
Looking at that Pirate’s Booty [not available over here] I think you’d be a HUGE fan of ‘Erdnussflips’ (think peanut Pirate’s booty).
WHAT. Those sound so fun to say and even more fun to eat.
Love the Vlog Alison! cracked up when I saw you dancing in the kitchen, I swear I dance in my kitchen like that all the time! #noshame
Kitchen dance parties EVERY DAY!
i love your videos!! xo
I think vlogs are fun but unfortunately I can’t really watch them at work! YUM! I can eat Pirate’s Booty ALL DAY!
I freaking loved this and love you!!!!!!! Day made!!!!!!! I vote for many more vlogs bc You’re hysterical and now I know for sure we would be tight (like spandex😉😳🙈) if we lived closer
Haha, you’re the best! ♥
YOU ARE SO CUTE. Oh my goodness. I loved this VLOG. Keep them coming! I need to try your pancakes at some point. They sound really dang good.
I LOVE your VLOGs. Inspirational to me, they are!!! :))) Thanks Alison. I think you should do them all the time. I especially love dancing in the kitchen.
LOOOOOVE your vlogs chica!! we need to live on the same side of the country so we can have kitchen dance parties together ❤ wish i could make more vlogs without being an obnoxious roommate talking to myself while i'm doing..everything.. haha! we'll see if it happens in the future!
side note: what camera do you use?
Thanks, girl! YES PLEASE do a vlog so I can see your gorgeous face in action!
I used three different cameras in this vlog haha. Nikon D3100, Panasonic Lumix, and my iPhone.
You are a QUEEN. So glad you are eating more and treating yourself like you deserve 🙂
Alison! I know we haven’t talked before but my name is Emily and I love your blog! I am going through the exact same thing to be honest…. I think your blog is awesome in so many ways and I loved your VLOG! I mainly just have recipes on my blog but I am trying to expand it:) So yeah, let me know if you ever wanna talk 🙂
Aw thanks so much, Emmy! (p.s. when I was little I was obsessed with the name Emmy, because I loved the actress Emmy Rossum, haha!) I am already drooling over the food on your blog, girl!
Lol, I’ll have to figure out what actress that is

Yes! I loved this vlog, you should do more! Lol, now that it’s two months later! But I have to ask, what did you use to edit your video? We are trying to find some sort of software to edit a movie that we were trying to make for a project we were doing, but have hit a roadblock. We didn’t want anything super expensive or technical for just one project, but we couldn’t find anything that fit that criteria. Do you know of anything? It’s fine if you don’t, I just thought I’d ask! 🙂
Thanks, Abbie 🙂 I used iMovie!
