Hello for the third time this week!
I thought I’d check in with y’all again this week with another one of my favorite kinds of posts— day in the life! Everyone keeps asking me if I can believe that I’m almost done being a college freshman. My answer is always, “Sometimes I have to tell myself that I’m in college.”
I still need nap time and snack time, so I’m basically still in preschool.
Nevertheless, here I am in my last month of freshman year at Boston University, and here is what a typical day during this hectic time of year looks like!
6:40 AM— Alarm goes off // Realize that sun is peering through the windows and panic for a split second, thinking I overslept. But alas, it’s just springtime finally. // Check emails on phone
6:45 AM— Bathroom, brush teeth, put in contacts, etc.
6:55 AM— Eat some frozen banana pieces // Pray
7:05 AM— Get stuff ready and run to the gym // I wear my workout clothes to sleep if I know I’m going to the gym in the morning.
7:15 AM— Arrive at the gym and meet my buddy PJ there // Work out
- dynamic warmup
- upper body strength
- rowing + thruster workout
8:10 AM— Walk back from the gym
8:30 AM— Arrive at the dining hall and eat breakfast with PJ, Sean, and Rachel // I failed to take a photo, but I ate scrambled eggs, bacon(!), and oatmeal with coconut, honey, peanut butter, and banana
9:15 AM— Go back to room to shower // Realize I’m still hungry (yes, even after that large breakfast) and eat a mini blueberry oatmeal bar
9:40 AM— Run out the door to meet a friend before class to go over some homework
10:00 AM— Organic chem lecture
11:00 AM— Anatomy lecture
12:00 PM— Writing class // class got out 10 minutes early, hooray!
12:40 PM— Lunch // A mighty delicious lunch! I enjoy every last bite.
salad of mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, tuna, feta, and honey dijon + turkey and roasted vegetables
1:00 PM— Decide that I want to write this post!
1:30 PM— Walk back to the dorm to get some gum [to fix the tuna breath] and a bigger jacket for my tour // See that it’s supposed to snow in an hour. SO MUCH FOR SPRINGTIME, BOSTON.
2:00 PM— Tour! // A little sleet never hurt anyone…
3:30 PM— Go back to the dorm to change my soaking wet jeans // Steal some dining hall peanut butter out of desperation after running out of my own peanut butter // Eat snack of frozen banana with the PB
4:00 PM— Meet a friend to study for our linguistics exam
5:15 PM— Dinner with PJ, Jon, and Rachel // “ballpark night” at the dining hall
salad with carrots, tomatoes, beets, roasted red peppers, Greek dressing + Italian sausage and peppers
apple crisp a la mode because it’s my FAVORITE
6:00 PM— Anatomy lab // look at cat cadavers, cows and pigs in utero, and…never mind
7:10 PM— Go back to the dorm to drop off my backpack and put on some warmer clothes for intramural softball with the Catholic Center team
7:25 PM— Start walking to the field across campus // Get a text from my friend that the game is cancelled // Back to the dorm
7:40 PM— Check emails + work on planning next semester’s schedule // Find out that I will be dead last for class registration this time around…Oh dear. // Snack on banana and peanut butter
9:00 PM— Homework and studying // Some more banana and peanut butter in there
12:00 AM— Finish typing this post
12:30 AM— Get ready for bed! (I have a 11AM class on Thursdays, don’t worry 🙂 )
A busy but wonderful day indeed! I’m also realizing that I ate a lot of fats yesterday. Bacon, eggs, cheese, peanut butter, more peanut butter, ice cream, sausage… But hey, don’t fear the fat!
So tell me:
What did you eat for lunch yesterday?
What were you doing at 7 AM, 3 PM, and 8 PM yesterday?
What kinds of fun fats did you eat yesterday?
Oh no, I can totally sympathize with the late class registration! I had that this past semester and it made getting the classes I needed tough! But it all worked out in the end fortunately 🙂 For lunch yesterday, I had homemade frozen chicken burrito, and it was so good!
I’m glad that it all worked out! Praying that it works out well for me too.
Mmm a homemade chicken burrito sounds AMAZING right now.
Is it weird that these are my favorite posts?!🙈 don’t answer that lol!!
You’re a busy busy bee!! Let’s see…yesterday I had (drawing a blank….) o egg salad for lunch!!!senior moment?! Ha!! But dang so smelly but so good! Hoping and praying registration goes smoothly for you! Not going to lie, whenever I have to register I question the necessity of college🙈🙈🙈
Have a great one alison!
I love other people’s day in the life posts too, don’t worry 😉
HAHA I definitely question the necessity of college several times during this time of year.
Wishing you all the best, Katie!
Your posts always make me miss college! Not the studying part, but how there is so much variety throughout the day rather than being in an office for 8 hours.
Even though it’s busy, I definitely cannot complain! There are lots of fun things to do indeed 🙂
“Sometimes I have to tell myself that I’m in college.” <– Hahaha I so relate. Wait, am I actually sort of an adult? Nah, that must be someone else…
Yesterday, I had a delicious hot turkey and Swiss sub for lunch. And in terms of fats? Oh, lots! Roasted almonds, cheese, roasted pistachios, more cheese, dark chocolate, and a little too much of a friend's leftover Easter candy (though that was probably more sugar than fat 😉 ). Either way, it was all pretty delicious!
Ahhh hot sub sandwiches are the best! And I definitely had a couple peanut butter eggs this week 😉
Lunch yesterday was tuna mixed with mayo and green onions (sprinkled with a little Himalayan salt) and an English muffin. Sounds good just typing it out. 7am = I was probably just getting out of the shower and getting ready after my morning WOD. 3pm = work is dead, so I’m bored. Try to stay “busy” but end up reading blogs and checking Instagram. 8pm = most likely lazily on the couch, watching Drop Dead Diva. Whomp whomp…nothing too exciting yesterday!
Sounds like a pleasant day anyway! Especially your lunch!
You know, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t hungry. I’ve got The Runger right now. Haha!
Hmm yesterday… lets see.
Lunch was a random assortment of salad, pasta salad, scalloped potatoes and cured meats.
7am – sitting on my bedroom floor doing my hair/makeup for work
3pm – wrapping up my workday & getting ready to head out for a run
8pm – sleeping. yes, I’m aware I suck. I’d been up since 430am though!
Fats: peanut butter, hemp & chia seeds in my oatmeal, spoonfuls of maple Justin’s for dessert
Aww man, I am about to dig into my boat of oatmeal before bed and your making me crave banana and peanut butter!!! I don’t have banana and now my cravings are sadly crushed. Womp-womp. Yesterday for lunch I had a salmon burger, broccoli, rice, and 2 boiled eggs on the side. Simple and yummo!
It took me the longest time to distinguish between freshman, junior, senior, etc when I was studying upstate! You pack a punch into your day and I’m impressed.
12.30 bed time? That’s soft 😉 Just kidding. the guys rooming next door to me legit went to sleep at 3am on their earlier nights..
Yeah, 12:30 isn’t too shabby for a college student I guess. I sleep for the sake of not wanting to punch people in the face next day.
I feel the same way. I am constantly going between “wow time goes fast!” and “What? I’m in college?” Strange times we are in. On the topic of tuna, I love love love tuna. But that after breath aint the prettiest thing.
I am dead last for registration next semester too and I am so bummed about it. You and me are going to have so much fun next year, sarcastically she says. YOU GO TO BED SO LATE. Love it.
Yesterday for lunch I had a chicken caesar salad.
7AM sleeping. 3PM hanging out at the pool. 8PM Eating a snack!
Fats consumed yesterday: whole milk, peanut butter, cheese, and avocado!
