Six weeks here at BU? Not real life, man.
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week/weekend so far! I’ve been having a darn awesome time with my friends as we embrace the long weekend here in America for Columbus Day. Three day weekends make me happy. 🙂
I have no smooth transition into this, but here are my workouts from this week!
Sunday
Rest // 30 air squats + 30 pushups + 30 situps
Those random exercises were just study breaks 🙂
Monday
5 min. row warmup + Lindsay’s 10-4 workout
This is one of my favorite workouts because it has so many complex movements and BURPEES! It ain’t easy, but it sure did a good job of getting the sweat/blood (in my circulatory system, not externally)/endorphins flowing after sitting all day in class.
Tuesday
20 min. adaptive motion trainer + 8 min core workout from Purely Twins + upper body strength
For the upper body portion:
- 10-15 lat pulldowns + 15-20 tricep dips
- 12 vertical rows + 12 Arnold presses
- 10 back extensions (holding 25# plate) + 20 mac raises
I rarely do steady state cardio on a machine because it’s just not fun in my opinion (I’d rather do a circuit workout that involves different exercises), but I was feelin’ it this day.
Wednesday
Rest
Thursday
Shoulder workout + yoga
My friend Albert joined me at the gym on Thursday, and he requested that we work on shoulders, so we did! I don’t quite remember what we did exactly, but I know it involved these exercises:
- Arnold presses
- Knee-to-elbow pushup burpees
- Burpees to T
- Side-front-side shoulder raise
- Thrusters
- Hand-release pushup burpees
- Manmakers
- Plank
Shoulders were BURNT. Albert would agree 🙂
Friday
5 min. row warmup + circuit workout from Julie + 8 min. ab tabata
I didn’t really want to work out, but I really did at the same time. So I just took the circuit workout at a challenging but still slower pace just to get moving. I did alternating curtsy lunges instead of the lunges with side shoulder raise and plank jacks instead of triceps extensions.
Saturday
Hike with the Catholic Women’s Group + some burpees in the dorm
{photo creds to Erica!}
It was a rainy day yesterday, but we women are “the hardest of core” (in the words of the lovely missionary, Erica), so we roughed it out there on a hike for about 1.5 hours. It was a soggy good time.
I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday! The weather decided to be gorgeous today when we don’t have any events taking place outside. Mother Nature is chuckling.
So tell me:
Do you like steady state cardio?
Do you like hiking?
What do you do when you don’t feel like working out?
