Hello!
How are you all? No one ever answers that when it’s at the beginning of the blog post, right? But I really do want to know how you’re all doing, and I hope you’re doing well!
I replaced What I Ate Wednesday last week with a favorites vlog done with Daliza. I’m joining Jenn‘s party again this week because I want to show you guys the epic dinner we had last night! I swooned about 15 times.
There were biscuits. CHEESE BISCUITS.
I’ll also throw in all the things we did yesterday for a little day in the life— vacation style!
8:45 AM— Awaken from slumber. Brush teeth and wash face.
9 AM— Go downstairs to make Gina’s cookie dough cereal for everyone. My cousin, aunt, and uncle loved it!
Cookie dough cereal with bananas and blueberries {recycled photo}
9:30 AM— Read blogs, answer comments, take care of college scheduling.
11 AM— Pray, do a couple rounds of 20 air squats, 20 pushups, and 20 sit-ups (for the 100’s challenge!).
11:30 AM— Stretch and 8 minute core tabata with the fit family!
12:15 PM— Lunch of leftovers. I failed to take a photo, but I had a salad with Chinese takeout leftovers on top, some fried rice, some leftover chips and salsa, and some perfectly ripe mango.
1 PM— More blog reading and dish washing.
2:30 PM— Make a quick grocery run to Publix with Amy.
3:15 PM— Eat a snack and make smoothies for the others.
3:30 PM— A couple more rounds for the 100’s challenge and reading.
4 PM— Power nap.
4:30 PM— Cousin walks in and wakes me up in time for me to shower and get ready for dinner.
6 PM— Arrive at Hemingway’s Restaurant in the Hyatt at Disney. We were celebrating my uncle’s and aunt’s wedding anniversary + my uncle’s birthday!
6:20-ish PM— Order and EAT! But first, we had the complimentary cheese biscuits and holyyyyyyyyy cow.
I miss them already. The butter on the side is a joke because these were so fluffy, flaky, buttery, and cheesy on their own. Oh mah goodness.
Three of the four adults ordered the prix fixe, which came with appetizer, entree, and dessert. We all shared bites of each other’s dishes too.
Clockwise from top left: key lime caesar salad, crab cakes with sweet corn coconut grits (some of the best crab cakes I’ve ever eaten!), my dessert order of peanut butter mousse bombe (ooooof so good), and my dad’s dessert order of key lime tart.
10 out o’ 10. This was one of the best meals I’ve had on this vacation! It was the cheese biscuits. It really was.
7:30 PM— Color. It’s a soothing activity.
8 PM— Roll Walk out into the garden and pool area of the Hyatt resort. It’s gorgeous!
8:30 PM— Make a quick drive over to Disney’s Boardwalk. Walk/digest/take pictures/limp because I wore super flat flip flops.
10 PM— Head home.
10:45 PM— Make my family and myself some overnight oats! I hope they like them, despite how scary they look in the morning. It’s what’s on the inside that counts 😀
11:30 PM— Start typing up this post while listening to Tori Kelly music.
12:30 AM— Get ready for bed and do the last set of exercises to complete the 100’s!
That, my friends, is the slow and laid-back lifestyle at the moment. College is going to be a blast when all this turns upside down and inside out!! o.o
Hope you all have a great day!
So tell me:
How are you? 🙂
What is the best meal you’ve eaten recently?
Do you ever make breakfast for your family?
Best meal I’ve aten all week was the ABC BLT burger I made. Delicious!
Your vacation looks so awesome thought th. Those appetizers look well planned out and executed. They’re delectable!
Ooo, what was in that burger? Sounds intriguing!
Recipe’s on my blog! 🙂 It’s a keto-paleo version of the classic BLT sandwhich.
Do you think you could make a quick video of the cookie dough cereal you always have?? Ive been on the original website a few times, and ive tried making it but it turns out sorta weird…
Every time you blog that you made them im just like ugggh wish i could try yours!! ❤
I’ll try to make one the next time I have it, Claire!
Overnight oats did not go over so well with my family 😉 Meh, at least I tried! I’m liking your laid-back lifestyle…still waiting for my invite.
I woke up, checked the fridge, and saw that all the bowls were gone and washed! That either means they liked them or they chucked them and washed the dishes to make me feel better.
Davs, you’re always welcome here!! Just bring some pancakes.
So, those cheese biscuits; they sound and look phenomenal.. are they like a savoury scone?
This day is utter perfection.. you’ve got abit of everything going – love it 🙂 .I have to say I applaud you for enjoying prepping overnight oats for the fam. I find it an effort enough to set a bowl up for myself! Can you comprehend such a level of laziness 😉 !?
Oh and before it slips my mind: your seriously -focused- “colouring face”? Priceless 😀 . And now I have an itch to get colouring myself.. I remember completing every new colouring book in one sitting as a wee one.. the good ol’ days!
A savory scone except 20 times fluffier and more flaky! It did take some time to prep all the overnight oats, but it’s worth it if I can get other people to love them as much as I do!
Oh my gosh your vacation eats are amazing. I was on vacation for over a month, and our food was not nearly this good! A lot of times I’d get caught up in vacationing that I’d forget to make really good meals. Anyways, I need a cousin like you who makes smoothies and overnight oats!
As long as the vacation is fun, the food is a second thought! 🙂
Perfect summer day!!!
Best thing I’ve eaten is a corn bread muffin (I used the recipe you posted a while back from peas and crayons) …corn bread😍
I love making breakfast for my family. Usually is eggs pancakes or French toast. I don’t dare make them overnight oats😳🙈 lol they are missing out though
Have a great day Alison!!!
Oooooo I could go for some corn bread!
Can you make me some French toast too?! 😉 Hope you had a wonderful day too, Katie!
best meal i’ve eaten recently was the pseudo-chipotle bowl i made myself for dinner yesterday! and i almost never make breakfast for the fam.. mom doesn’t like breakfast, all my brother eats is honey bunches of oats, and my dad is always awake before me! haha. i think it’s funny that i love breakfast so much because everyone else in my family is not as big of a fan.
looks like you’re enjoying the slow sweet time that is vacation! soak it up girl 🙂
My family is the same way with breakfast. My mom often eats cereal or leftovers, my dad wakes up early and eats granola bars, and my brother wakes up really late when he’s not working..ha!
First of all, you’re such a beauty! 😉 I bet it’s the power nap – getting your beauty sleep! I won’t lie to you, I get a few of those myself! LOL!
Aw thanks, girl! 🙂
First off: your dress is gorgeous! As is the whole scenery. As in: can I join you guys over there?
My family wouldn’t be keen on me preparing my kind of breakfast for them. They prefer their simple whole wheat bread with cheese not ‘odd oats’. But I got my parents to eat kale in another than the classic German version last year and it won them over.
Thank you! Please do come join the party! 😀
Hey, whole wheat bread with cheese doesn’t sound too shabby though. 😉
Colouring is definitely a soothing activity, but it’s so hard to find good colouring books these days! They all seem to be mashed up with those activity books, but I just want an old school colouring one. Ooooooh! I bet you can find pages online and print them off *Googles* OMG YOU CAN! I feel an addiction coming on…
Genius! My aunt gave me some lightly used coloring books to bring with me to college for stress relief. I’m gonna need them 😉
Those biscuits…..
In Australia, we call biscuits what you call ‘cookies’
What you call biscuits, we call scones.
What you call scones, we call ….pastry?
Too complicated. So you thought I was eating cheese cookies?
Coloring is one of my favorite activities!! Whenever I see a coloring book, I secretly want to buy it so I can color while I listen to Disney music…. I’m such a five year old at heart.
Those cheese biscuits!!! Cheese and biscuits happen to be two of my favorite things separately so I can’t even imagine how phenomenal they are together!
I’m glad you’re having a vacation. This looks like the perfect day! 🙂
Coloring + Disney music sounds like a wonderful way to pass time or just chill out. My friends and I should do that on a wild Friday night 😉
Best meal I’ve had all week was the brownie batter oatmeal from Fit Foodie Finds. So delicious!!
I don’t usually make breakfast for my family, but I do make lunches and sometimes dinners. Breakfast is my throw-something-tasty-together time of the day. 🙂
Ooo that sounds fantastic! Lee’s food always looks delicious.
Love this little day in the life! =) I have an “emergency” coloring book for when I have the urge. It probably makes it even better that it is Disney princesses, right?!
The Disney princess touch definitely helps 😉
