Good morning!
We’re in the home stretch here in Florida! We have a little over a week before it’s time to head back to New York, and I’m actually quite happy about that. Although my time in the sunshine state has been absolutely wonderful, I’m ready to go back to our cozy home up north (I make it sound like I live in Alaska).
Today is also the day that Daliza leaves me 😦 Her family drove down from New York like hardcore troopers, so she’ll be joining them at a hotel, but she’ll still be nearby! My cousin, aunt, and uncle came in yesterday though, so we still have great company.
I’m feeling like it’s confession time again for this weekend recap. Honesty is the best policy, am I right? 😉
Sharing my confessions on Katie‘s marvelous Monday linkup!
Confession #1: I’m slightly obsessed with Us The Duo.
Their concert in Orlando on Friday night was so awesome. I don’t even care if I’ve known about their existence for only 5 days. I’m a fangirl and I already know the words to most of their songs. They are absolutely flawless when they sing live, which is a rarity these days with big-time musicians.
They melt my heart.
Confession #2: Daliza and I learned the lyrics to this song:
It’s a song about BANANAS. A healthy living blogger’s dream right there. You should learn the words too, just to have it in your back pocket for impromptu performances. (This is the guy in Us the Duo and he performed it for us on Friday night, haha!)
Confession #3: Sometimes I just want Cheerios.
But I also want sunflower seed butter. But putting sunflower seed butter in a regular bowl of cereal is a little inconvenient, so we compensate by making a rather patriotic yogurt bowl. Huzzah!
Confession #4: I probably would not do too well with hot yoga.
I think it was 90+ degrees F on Friday morning, and I made it through only 30 minutes of a yoga video before rolling up my mat and going back into the air-conditioned house.
I was dripping sweat even though I was in the shade.
Confession #5: I’ve been watching the Crossfit Games all weekend.
I just can’t stop being in awe of those athletes. I also can’t stop staring at their shoulders!!!
Rich Froning? Incredible.
Confession #6: I am scared of Daliza.
She tried to pull my feet when we were swimming in my friend’s pool. Like, who does that?! She also scared me when I was walking out of a room, and I screamed and fell to the floor. Oh, she threw stuffed Pikachus at my head too. She doesn’t love me.
“Do I have anything in my teeth?”
Confession #7: I ate soft serve ice cream two nights in a row.
And both were fantastic. Soft serve is just so delightful, I don’t think it gets old!

Confession #8: I didn’t eat lunch on Saturday.
We went to our family friends’ house, and they said we would have an early dinner, so I just snacked on watermelon and cherries for “lunch” while swimming with Daliza. Needless to say, I was ravenous afterwards. I was so, so happy when I got to eat this delicious food made by our hostess.
Daliza even tried fish (salmon) for the first time ever! She’s a very picky selective eater, so that was HUGE for her. She even said two days beforehand: “I would never eat fish.” OKAY. And then she tried eel last night. She has become a new person on this trip.
🙂
Confession #9: We ordered a little too much sushi.
I didn’t think it was possible, but the six of us (Daliza didn’t venture into the sushi) were stuffed to the brim after this meal, and this isn’t even all of it!

Confession #10: I really want some Lucky Charms.
It’s sitting in the pantry because I bought some last week “for my cousin.”
Confession #11: I did burpees this weekend!
I’ve been doing some here and there because I think I can start increasing my exercise a little more(!!) now. Slowly. I don’t do them often, but I did some and it felt so great!
I should go to sleep now. I’m making waffles for la famiglia in the morning/this morning/now.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!
So tell me:
What’s your favorite “indulgence” cereal?
Do you like hot yoga?
Soft or hard ice cream?
Confessions from the weekend!
I prefer ice cream but because soft serve is not a very common thing here. But even if it was… I would go for ice cream!
Confession: I finished two boxes of praline chocolate on Saturday night. One by Lindt and one by Milka. The latter was still saved from my birthday and was initially thought to be given away again (I don’t eat chocolate usually) but I couldn’t resist. And don’t feel a bit bad about it 🙂
You eat that chocolate, Ann! 🙂 That sounds like fantastic chocolate (even though I’m not a fan of chocolate..).
I looked through this active wear online shop and had to think of you immediatley when I saw this tank top! 😀 http://www.activateapparel.com/design/31444-lets-get-down-to-business yo should get it!!
Oh my goodness. That’s brilliant and just what I need!!! 😉
It won’t let me comment on your Harry potter post but damn yo make me jelly! Grape jelly. Butter beer jelly.
Now onto today’s post- I always need to have cereal and nut butter wit yogurt or cottage cheese- I tried the nut butter and cereal and it made a mess- one I didn’t mind too much 😉
Glad Daliza ventured out to embrace seafood- seriously one of the best eats ever
Butterbeer jelly should be a thing now. Arman’s Butterbeer Jelly, only sold at Honeydukes.
I’ve actually tried the cereal-milk-nut butter mess before. It was still good, you’re right.
Soft ice cream for sure! And don’t worry abut skipping lunch. I skip meals all the time and just eat at random times. no biggie!
Yeah, I compensated with a huge dinner! 😀
unintentional hot yoga is the worst! Also Daliza, welcome to the sweet life and by this I mean lots and lots of fish. There’s no turning back now.
Daliza laughed at my face when I read that comment to her. I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean.
Soft serve is amazing. And I completely know what you mean about sometimes just wanting a bowl of cereal…. I’ve actually swapped my morning bowl of oats with pimped out cereal bowls, aaaaand I’m kind of obsessed. So much so that I’ve been enjoying them for lunch or dinner some days as well. Whatever works 🙂
Enjoy your last days in FL!
“Pimped out cereal bowls.” That’s intense. I haven’t had cereal for dinner in FOREVER, but that sounds awesome right now.
Confession: I believe there’s a time and place for soft serve and the firm kind – I could never choose (overall) between the two.
Oh jeez Daliza is such a cracker 😀 !..and so brave to plunge into the “fishy” world. I mean I love seafood, but eel; that’s a bold choice! What does it taste most similar to?
As much fun as a holiday can get..home sweet home hey!?
I think I agree with you on that. I like both soft and hard ice cream depending on my mood.
Eel is actually the most chicken-tasting in my opinion! I think the fact that it’s EEL freaks people out, but she liked it!
Home sweet home indeed!
Us the Duo is seriously so amazing. They are some of the cutest people on earth. I love Cheerios, but I ALWAYS get hungry an hour after I eat cold cereal. Adding nut butter and fruit is the way to go! I’m not a fan of hot yoga. Well technically in Texas EVERY yoga class is basically hot yoga 🙂 Also, having soft serve two days in a row is totally acceptable. I see no problems 🙂
Oh man, I cannot eat just a bowl of cereal and be satisfied. That would be part 1 of 3 for my kind of breakfast!
Cinnamon toast crunch, lucky charms, fruit loops, frosted flakes, yea I just really like cereal…and sugar🙈 lol
Love soft serve so much!!!!!! Especially with sprinkles 🙂
I would definitely not be a good candidate for hot yoga🙅🙅. For some reason I’ve always gotten overheated really quickly and become quite a crabby person when I’m too hot!!! No bueno!
Have a great last week in Florida! Be careful. That Daliza is a tricky one🙈😉
Oooo cinnamon toast crunch is another good one! 😉
Thanks, Katie! Hope you have a wonderful week as well!
Sounds like a fun time in Florida! Miss the times we had there!
The sushi looks delicious too 🙂
Yeah I always talk about our crazy Harry Potter adventures 😉
Haha I have been laughing for the past week at the Lucky Charms commercial – the girl goes to pour the cereal and there are no charms… Because her husband picked them all out! My favorite cereal probably is Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes with raisins added in – no nutritional value, but have loved them since childhood! I prefer soft ice cream {with sprinkles} over hard any day 🙂
So typical of someone to pick out those awesome marshmallows 😉 Corn flakes with raisins is a new one! That reminds me that I used to love Raisin Bran too!
Your weekend looked so fun girlie, I totally just lived vicariously through you. Minus the froyo, you can’t pretend you ate froyo. I need the real deal, know what I mean?!
You have stunning skin, so gorgeous. I LOVE hot yoga. How ironic, I just went to my 2nd hot yoga class on Sunday in my new neighborhood! I think the breathing is kinda awkward when everyone exhales and sounds like groaning cats, but besides that I am all for a good sweat.
I just had frozen yogurt tonight, so I got the real deal for ya! 😉
I can imagine that you love hot yoga since you run miles and miles in the blazing heat!! You crazy! But crazy beast status.
