Fascinating Friday Links #25 + Hockey Drama

Friday already?! And that’s not out of excitement. I’m shocked that my pretty low-key winter break is coming to a close. I guess it’s about time I kick my butt back in gear after all those snow days though.

The weather finally warmed up yesterday, so I took full advantage of it by going for a brisk, hour-long walk around my neighborhood.

Lots of kids were playing outside, neighbors were walking the dogs, snow was melting, springtime felt near. Then I came home to hear on the news that the temps will drop back below freezing in a week….K.

In other news, my mom turned into a different person during the women’s hockey game yesterday. Honestly, I was a little scared. I guess she has this passionate rivalry with her siblings who live in Canada since she’s the only one of her siblings who lives in the US. So for an hour of our lives, we were die-hard hockey fans. She was literally jumping up and down for Team USA when they made their first two goals, but when Canada scored two goals in the last three minutes, she went c.r.a.z.y. Like, upset crazy. You don’t even know.

The pressure is too much to handle.

Of course, I had to cry out to the Twitter world for consolation. Thanks, Jo.

  1. I saw that recipe for Baklava Muffins and knew I HAD to make them!

I have to say, reading your tweets about hockey was quite the entertainment I needed while working on homework. 😉 We were like that with the skeleton and bobsledding!

The weather is warming up here, but that also means the humidity is rising. My body isn’t quite sure how to handle that yet so I’m either sneezing like crazy, have skin dry as the Sahara, or have a pixie-‘fro. Fun stuff.

    Have a great day!!

    • I definitely hope to make those muffins one day too! Haha, I’m glad they were entertaining 🙂 Skeleton and bobsledding are just plain scary to watch for us.
Ohhh I completely forgot about the allergies that I get when the weather changes…*sigh*
Hope you have a great day too, Jess!

  2. Hahaha your mom! Too funny! I’m with ya on the going to have freezing temps. UGH. The other day we’re wearing shorts and now we’re gonna have to pull our the parka’s! Anyway. Awesome links, as always!

  3. I didn’t watch the hockey showdown! However, I was growing our twinning veggie belly’s I skimmed through the channels and came across the Olympics. So I decided to watch that and it made me think of you and your awesome recaps. I also can’t believe it’s still on…… O__O haha.

I’ve really got to get on that snap chat business because if I had one I would send a picture of me trying to hug you through the screen! haha, that might look awkward? Oh well. Virtual hug. Because you are awesome and your support really helped me power through a negative situation. God is good, all the time 😉 ❤

  4. I didn’t watch the game but let me tell you; twitter was on fire with the tweets last night. Don’t tell your mom but Im really excited Canada won. I am both mad and happy you posted those Hawian Nachos. Mad because its 8 in the morning and that is what I want for breakfast and happy because that is probably what Ill be having for dinner!

  5. Your mom is hysterical!!
And we are going back into a deep freeze next week?! Noooooooo! I didn’t know this and why did you tell me?😭 ignorance in bliss right?! Ha not really!
